Evan Tanner, former UFC middleweight champion and something of MMA's most widely used martial artists, has been discovered dead within the California desert at 37.

Tanner, who was simply camping within the Palo Verde area, sent a text to some friend on Wednesday, September 3,  saying he was from water and needed help. He was formally reported as missing on Friday, along with a search started on Saturday when temps in the region arrived at nearly 115 levels.

Tanner, a blogger for Spike TV, talked about the trip within an entry dated August 16.

“I’ve been gathering my gear with this adventure for more than per month, not really a very long time by most standards, but way too lengthy in my impatient character,” Tanner authored. “Being a minimalist by character, attempting to carry just the necessities, and being very particular, it's been just a little difficult to get the perfect equipment. I intend on going so deep in to the desert that any failure of my equipment might cost me my existence.”

Inside a later entry, he downplayed the risk.

“It appears some MMA websites have reported around the story, posting up which i might die within the desert, or that it may be my finest opponent yet, etc. Seriously men. It is common lower in los angeles to visit to the off-road entertainment areas within the desert around an hour from LA and North Park. So my plan's to visit to the desert, perform some camping, ride the motorcycle, and shoot some guns. Seems like an enjoyable experience in my experience. Many people get it done. This is not a form of "In to the Wild". I am not heading out in to the desert with a set of shorts along with a bowie knife, to try and live from the land. I am going fully targeted up, and I am thinking about getting a chuckle.”

Tanner, who never considered themself a fighter, fought against 42 professional bouts in over 11 years.

“I always considered myself because the poet, the author, or even the philosopher – Never imagined of myself like a fighter,” he jeered. “But the actual. I usually had a concept of the flow of my existence, although not precisely what I'd do daily. And fighting certainly wasn’t something I figured I’d do.”

Tanner's motorcycle was discovered in a campground and the entire body was discovered nearby by an Imperial County Sherrif's Department Deputy on Monday.

The reason for dying isn't known at this time around.

Our ideas and hopes go to family and buddies.
