Lindsey Vonn has been recommended as "America's best lady skier ever" based on Sports Highlighted, who featured the gifted all downhill ski racer on their own exclusive edition Olympic cover. She's competing in her own third Winter Olympic games in Vancouver and it was lately named Colorado Athlete of the season 2009.
Vonn won her first event on Feb 17, 2010. She taken GOLD in Women's Downhill - see photos below. She fell within the Super-Combined on Thursday but won a Bronze medal within the Super-G competition on Saturday. She'll compete in Giant Slalom on Wednesday Feb 24th.
The 25-year-old has tallied up nine victories this year: 5 in Downhill, 3 in Super-G and one in Super Combined. She made her World Cup debut at 16 in Park City. Her first Olympics were in 2002 where she'd a sixth place finish in Combined.
In her own second Winter Olympic games in the year 2006, Vonn crashed throughout an exercise run and it was evacuated by helicopter to Torino, where she was put in the hospital overnight for any stylish injuries. She taken part the very next day and handle eighth within the downhill race. The gritty performance gained her the U.S. Olympic Spirit Award.
In mid-November Vonn stated, "At this time I am more powerful than I have have you been.Inch She's been compared to skiing's Michael Phelps. When requested about this she responded, "I have heard the comparison a number of occasions and I'm not sure about this.Inch
Lindsey was created in Saint Paul, Minnesota and it was elevated within the Twin Metropolitan areas. Her family gone to live in Vail within the late the nineteen nineties to facilitate her training. She married U.S. Ski Team athlete Thomas Vonn in 2007.
