Charged killer Ronnie Lee Gardner, 49, was offer dying by firing squad in the Utah Condition Prison on June 18, 2010. Just before the execution, he was strapped right into a chair. When requested if he'd almost anything to say, his reply was: "I don't, no." At that time a black hood was attached over his mind.
Five marksman, all officer volunteers, targeted their .30-quality Winchester rifles in a target pinned towards the charged man's chest and fired a volley of bullets. Four from the photographers guns contained live models. They fired in symphony at 12:15 a.m. Gardner was pronounced dead at 12:17 a.m.
His last meal, adopted Tuesday June 15, 2010, comprised of steak, lobster, apple cake, vanilla frozen treats and seven-Up. Then he started a 48-hour fast, that his lawyer stated was for "spiritual reasons" getting related to his Mormon heritage.
In a news conference held an hour or so following the firing squad execution, people from the press who observed the big event spoke regarding their findings.
Jennifer Dobner from the AP stated: "There is no bloodstream splattered over the whitened cinderblock wall in the Utah Condition Prison. No audible sounds in the condemned. I could not see his eyes. Irrrve never saw the guns and did not hear the countdown towards the trigger-pull."
